Do you know what Stone-Agers used to cure headaches?

I am sure all of you must have got a headache and what did you use to cure it? A medicine for sure but do you know what a Stone-Ager amight have used? Stone-Agers used to believe that a headache was caused by evil spirits trapped in the head and to make the spirits leave the head they used to peel the scalp back and drill a hole in the head. Most of the victims used to die after this operation but archaeologists have found a man who survived 7 holes like this.




Do you know ice-cream was invented in the 4 century BCE?

All of you must have eaten ice-cream but do you know it was eaten by the Romans too? The origins of ice-cream can be traced back to 4 century BCE Rome. Nero the Roman emperor ordered ice to be brought from the mountains and mixed with fruit toppings. But the ice-cream that we eat today, the one with milk and sugar was brought by Marco Polo in the 13th century from China. Do you know of any other ancient dish that we eat today?





Do you know that carrots were originally pink in color and bitter?

All of you would have eaten a carrot and can you tell me how it tasted? Sweet but a person living in the Middle Ages would have said bitter! The modern carrots we eat were developed by Dutch farmers in the 16th and 17th century and were grown for their aromatic leaves.
