Tribal Popcorn and More

Popcorn is a Native American dish!

We all eat popcorn when we go to the movies. But did you know that popcorn was also eaten when the first Thanksgiving was celebrated. The first Thanksgiving was celebrated in 1621 in New England. A feast was organized with cod, sea bass, wild turkey, duck and goose. The Native Americans who participated in the feast got popcorn with them, which the colonists had never eaten before.

The first trademark was used in the 13th century!
In the year 1266, bakers in England were asked to mark the loaves they baked. So, if the badly baked loaves were sold, the customer would know who had baked them. This was the first time in history a trademark was used.

In the English Civil War, the soldiers on the parliamentary side were named because of their hair style!
Roundhead
Cavalier
In the English Civil War, there were 2 sides fighting, the parliamentary side called Roundheads and the king’s side called the Cavaliers. The term Roundheads was given by the Cavaliers to the soldiers fighting on the parliamentary side because they had closely cropped hair instead of the court fashion of the long curly locks.
