The tradition of shaking hands was invented in ancient Greece!


Today all of us around the globe shake hands as a greeting. However, did you know that the tradition of shaking hands was invented in ancient Greece?! Some reasons that the ancient Greeks shook hands was to show that they were not holding any weapons, and another reason was to dislodge any weapons daggers or knives that maybe hidden.

 

 The ancient Romans used powdered mouse brains as toothpaste!


The ancient Romans were very concerned about their personal hygiene. However, did you know that the ancient Romans used powdered mouse brains as toothpaste! The mouse brains were mixed with charcoal and bark for flavor. They also added the ashes of powdered ox hooves, donkey teeth and burnt eggshells!
