Interesting Did You Inuits...Knowits

Did you know Native Americans considered everything the tribe owned as community space.

Native Americans were the people living in the Americas before the Europeans arrived. Each tribe had its own land, which consisted of a village and hunting grounds. Whatever land the tribe owned was community space meaning it belonged to everyone in the tribe. People could use it for all their needs. But after the Europeans arrived, they started asking for land, which the Native Americans gave willingly but not knowing the Europeans would keep it for themselves. The Native Americans thought they could use it as communal space and started entering the Europeans land, this led to conflicts between the 2 groups.

Did you know that Akbar owned pet cheetahs?!

In the 16th century when Akbar ruled Asiatic cheetahs were still found in India. Akbar was fond of hunting and used to go on hunting expeditions. They used to hunt animals like tigers, elephants, rhinoceroses and deer. For this they needed fast and agile animals who were capable of hunting other animals and the perfect animal for this was the cheetah. I wonder if any cheetah gobbled up its caretaker. You can now see Asiatic cheetahs only in Iran.

Did you know the Inuits don’t have a word for ‘war’?

The Inuits are the tribes that live in the North American Arctic. The Inuits don’t have a word for ‘war’ as they have always been a peaceful people, this is the reason they don’t have a word for ‘war’. They are also the only culture that don’t have the word. They sure are Buddhas.

Some of you reading this may be vegetarian and some of you must be non-vegetarian but some Neanderthals were cannibals and ate brains of other Neanderthals!

Cannibals are people who eat other humans or in this case other Neanderthals. Neanderthals in the Stone-Age ate other Neanderthals brains in times when they couldn't find food easily but sometimes for pleasure too! Yuck! Yuck! Yuck! You can read about this in the book Savage Stone Age by Terry Deary.
