Indian rupees were the official currency of Pakistan for a while!


In 1947, when the countries of India and Pakistan were divided, Pakistan didn’t have an official currency. So, the Reserve Bank of India (R.B.I) started printing notes for Pakistan too! The R.B.I  printed notes for Pakistan until June 1948.

 

The 1st university in the world was invented in India!


Today, there are universities in almost each and every country in the world. However, did you know that the 1st university was invented in ancient India! In 700 B.C.E the 1st university in the world, the Takshashila University was established in Takshashila, Pakistan. It is said that about 10,500 students flocked to the university. It is also said that 60 subjects were taught in the university! The university flourished for a long time before it was destroyed in the 5th century C.E by the Huns.

 

In 100 B.C.E, the decimal system was invented in India.



A decimal number is a number that uses a decimal point followed by digits that show a value smaller than one. However, did you know that the decimal system was invented in India?! In 100 B.C.E the decimal system was invented by Aryabhata, a mathematician and scientist of ancient India. Some other inventions of Aryabhata was the number 0 and the theory that the planets in our solar system revolve around the Sun.

  1. Yes, it’s very creditable that Takshashila University was established long before other Universities in the World. Besides there were more Universities like Nalanda, Vikramshila, Somapura etc,

    Bharat was called Vishwaguru in the Ancient times.
